Wednesday, January 09, 2008Our First One Year Recipient!
I am pleased to announce that we have chosen our first one year recipient, an ambitious young artist named Franck Rabeson from the country of Madagascar! We are excited to be able to have him as our first one year recipient and look forward to what he can achieve with the grant. For more information on Mr. Rabeson and a link to his gallery, please check out the Recipients page.
Sunday, November 18, 2007We're still alive!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to make an update to show you all we are still up and running. We have all been really busy with work and school which has been eating into our time to work on the site and organization. The good news is that we have finally saved up enough to assure our primary grant is supplied for up through next year and we are currently seriously looking at providing another grant for next year as well, most likely a one year grant. We will be sure to inform you all when we make our decision on the subject!
Thursday, September 13, 2007Articles
I have recently appeared in two articles in publications around my area talking about myself and the Fund. You can find the Alma College article here: http://www.alma.edu/news/releases/archives/2007/09/05/bunce
The other article is located in the Gratiot County Herald's September 13 issue, page 7A, so pick it up if you are in the Gratiot county area here in Michigan. And finally to our visitors from the Alma College website and readers of the Herald, welcome to the site! I hope you find everything well while you are here and that you can help out if you can, we would much appreciate it!

Wednesday, August 29, 2007Important Update
Good news everyone! I have received my Articles of Incorporation back from the state government confirming that our organization is now filed as an official non-profit, by the state at least. This means that donations made to the fund are now tax-deductible on state income taxes. For those who donate online, we will contact you through e-mail for your address so that we may be able to send you a receipt of your donation that you can use for tax purposes. For those who donate through mail we will send a receipt back to the return address. Not all states recognize out of state organizations though, so make sure to check your state tax laws to make sure you can claim your donated money on your income tax forms and also how much you can claim. Thank you all for your support!
Thursday, August 16, 2007Grant Update
As of today all grants offered by the Fund will have an increase of $500 to $2500. This has come about as I have received extra work at my job that I had not been expecting and thus I have revised our budget to take into account the new influx of money. The figures are looking good and we may possibly be able to offer a second grant during our next fiscal period starting next summer.
A second grant is not yet a sure thing, the possibility of it happening is high, but I should know for sure by the start of the new year I hope. In the meantime, I will begin the search for a second recipient. I'll keep everyone updated if there are any significant developments in the meantime.
